Day 5 is over. We had about 169 children at camp today. At 10:30am the temperature was 104 degrees. Yes, it was HOT. We had one girl, a girl that traveled with us from the states, that got dehydrated. She went back and rested and is doing great now. We had 6 children sponsored today. no salvations, but we are called not only to share the Gospel with people but also make disciples of them too. God has given me the opportunity to talk with a lot of kids about their walk with God. I thought I may have a hard time understanding the Kriol language, but I am instead starting to pick up on it quite nicely. This week I was kinda asked to not do the "Hands Up" program to get everyone quieted down. This has been something that many of the kids, as well as some of the church staff, have been looking forward to, but fortunately, with this group of kids I have not needed it too much, but many of the parents, children, and helpers walk past me and shout Hands Up! I just realized that many of you may not know about this method. I come in to make an announcement and I say "Hands Up" and raise my hand, and everyone is quiet. I make a game of it at first, but they all know that when I put my hand up, it is time to listen for instructions. I had one person told me that I need to also say Manos Ariba for the spanish speaking, and I need to translate it into Kriol, as I would say "Poot oop youah Hahnds". I don't know, I may try it :) The language is fun. It is English, in a different light! I talked to the pastor of the church here on the compound and he wants me to teach the youth sunday school class Sunday morning. His daughter let me know that b/c they don't have a youth minister, their Sunday school is blended with the 4 yr olds. Not a good deal for those older ones. I will get to share with them and am quite excited. Time to spend some time studying. Good night for now. God Bless you all and thanks for keeping us in your prayers.
