Update July 4, 2011

Happy 4th of July.  As I sat and watched fireworks last night with my family I began thinking about our move to Belize.  I began thinking about the fact that they do not celebrate our Independence day.  They do not celebrate Memorial day, or Labor day.  They do not celebrate a lot of the holidays that we enjoy here and they do not have many of the reasons to celebrate those.  On July 4th I think about what our country has that many others do not.  I think about why we have these freedoms.  I think about all of the people who have given their lives for our freedom as well as those who now serve to protect that freedom.  God has truely blessed America.  While we will miss many of these celebrations and these freedoms, we are happy to be blessed with the opportunity to share the truth of the one who truely gives us these freedoms.  We are humbled to be chosen to take the Gospel to these people.  We are excited about our upcoming trip.  We are only about 3 weeks away.  We are happy to be going, but a little saddened at the same time.  We are a bit anxious about leaving our youngest son, Dylon for 2 weeks while we take Maverick, our oldest, with us.  Please pray for peace.  We know that he will be taken care of as he will be staying with my parents, brother, and one of my dearest friends (while my family works).  We know that he will have a good time, but being away from him for 2 weeks is a bit difficult.  We are blessed to have friends and family that will watch him and show him love.  We are also blessed to have internet at the Uriah Compound in Roaring Creek so we can still talk to him via internet, but it is not the same as being able to hold him and comfort him.  Please pray for the peace in our minds.  We are planning on taking him next year, and yes, he will be moving there with us.  We have the needed funds, but are still accepting donations as we never know what kind of taxes they may drop on us when we get there.  If you would like to donate, you may send checks made to Spring Creek Rd Baptist Church and send them to us at 3706 Mary Anna Dr. East Ridge, TN, 37412.  Thank you and God Bless you and enjoy your Independence today.

Keep the SON in your eyes,
Darin Linkins and Family
