Belize day 12

You are getting a double dose b/c yesterday the internet was down.  Today, the sun was out and we had 79 People at camp.  I was able to share about the Cross and what Jesus went through for us.  No salvations that I know of, but one thing really stuck out to me.  I was eating lunch and saw 5 kids that had some  rough looking shoes.  I took them in and gave them new shoes.  To those of you at church, you will get to see what your donations did.  I asked one girl if I could trade her old shoes for 2 pairs of new sandals.  She agreed and I will get to let you see them.  God touched my heart with that.  When we arrived at the compound we ate some nachos and then went to the bus to pass out beans, rice, and powdered milk.  We went to the village of Maya Mopan.  We did not realize it until we were there but this is where our sponsored child lives.  We met his family there, actually they saw us in the village and ran to us.  We spoke with his dad and he was making some bowls that he plans to give to us as a thank you.  Such a sweet family.  He shared with us that he used to be the worst drunk, but, he got saved yesterday and neither Yesterday or today has he had a drop.  He is making several bowls, but these ones he will not sell.  These will be the most important things we have recieved here.  We returned and had dinner and then went to church.  maverick was getting a little ancy since he had not taken a nap, so I pulled him out gave him a shower, and am now waiting for him to go to sleep so I can slip back into church.  Wonderful night... Wonderful week!  Sadly, tomorrow is the last night of camp.  Friday is our last night here and it is weighing on us.  Tomorrow morning we have to move to another campus due to another team coming in from the states for book distribution week.  THank you for supporting us in our trip.
Grace and Peace,
Darin Linkins and Family
